Slacker, but Lots to Report!

I'm a slacker on this blogging thing. It's just a little difficult for me to sit down and write. I think another thing is, that without a camera, I'm unable to display these moments I'm talking about for all to see. But, that is all about to change. I should have a camera, come tomorrow! I bought my same camera, which I lost in January at Buckhead Saloon on a drunken night, go figure, off Ebay the other day. I'm having it shipped to Monroe.....Washington!

I HAD to have a camera to document my trip to Seattle, which takes place tomorrow night through Monday night. I'm pretty excited to see Becky, excuse me...Rebecca, and Jay, and all the peeps I hear about all the time. Jay and Becky have been to visit me in North Carolina twice now, so I figured it was time to pay a visit to Washington, my first ever. I probably didn't pick the best time to visit, as the weather doesn't look very promising, but I don't think you can ever plan on it not raining any time during the year. So, why not? It was the first race of the year for the ASA Northwest Tour and Jay was supposed to race, but now he has no motor so he will be unable to, which really stinks, since that was another reason I was coming, but at least he will be there. That was almost not the case.

I decided a couple weeks ago that I would redeem my frequent flyer miles to fly out there, so after discussions with Becky, I went ahead and booked it. What do you know, that night Jay calls Becky to tell her that his new job will be sending him to San Diego for training and he wouldn't be home. It definitely upset me but went and read the details of my ticket and found out that I wouldn't lose my miles if I just rescheduled it for another time. I felt horrible that Jay wasn't going to be able to race, most of all though. He's been looking forward to this race all winter and working on the car and such. Then a couple days later, his work called him back again saying he would be home after all....YEA! Trip back on! But, Jay now had the dilemma of no motor since he took his to be refreshened then his motor builder had a heart attack and had already disassembled it, but would be unable to repair with his illness. ARGH! So, anyways....Jay's home but no racing, but he says we'll have a hella good time watching the race and drinking beer in the stands...LOL!

I'm not sure what all we have planned for this trip. Even Jay and Becky don't know what there is to do in Seattle. I know I want to see the Space Needle, obviously, and Pike Place Market, but other than that, we're pretty open. We'll have fun no matter what, but I would like to get in as many sights as I can while I'm there. Have any ideas?

I'm sure we'll have to go to the big town of Snohomish, hometown of KMFH! Ha...He told me to go see his alma mater...we'll see about that! I went and saw them a couple weeks ago. I couldn't believe it had been since Jay and Becky were here in December that I had last seen them and Grace! I feel so terrible, but it was good to see them, catch up, play with Grace and see how big she's gotten and have fun. I do have a picture to post from this day since Mandi took it for me. She's so cute and very stylin' in her sunglasses "Aunt" Becky got her.

There's been a couple holidays already. I can't believe St. Patrick's Day and Easter have already passed. Most of you all probably read my bulletin or received my e-mail about this being the earliest Easter we will ever see during our lifetime. Thank goodness, I don't think I liked having it so close to St. Patrick's Day. St. Patrick's Day just got forgotten at the stores to make room for Easter goodies. It didn't help that SPD was on a Monday either. My girlfriend Lisa and I went to Midtown Sundries. I didn't even feel like doing anything big and for sure, didn't feel like dealing with the crowds at the normal Irish places. They had an Irish band there and green beer, so that was cool. JR and his new roommate Shane came and met us then we went to Smokin' Guns...woo hoo! You know that place was hopping, NOT! But we stayed there til about 12:30 then came home.

This past Friday night, Carrie, Lisa and I went to see Sunny Ledfurd at Buckwild. As usual, it was a good time. Up until the time I left and got on 485. I got a flat tire...Freakin' A. Seeing as it was 3 a.m., I didn't want to call and wake my parents so Carrie suggested I call Frank since we had just left him and he lives at the Speedway anyway. So, I called him and he came and got me and we worried about it on Saturday morning. Sure enough, the whole freakin' tire was shredded on the inside. Apparently, I had run over a large piece of hard plastic, my dad found. My luck...just how it goes!

Sunday was spent at the Kinser house, as has been tradition for the last three years. I made some cute Easter cupcakes decorated as Easter bunnies, baskets and some with Peeps on them. They turned out super cute.

Oh yes, I'm working again....Kohl's, AGAIN! Hey, it's something, it's money, I'm outta the house, a lot of the same people work there that did when I worked there two years ago and there wasn't much training. It should be good. Just have to remember to try to save some money and not spend it all!!!

I'll post after the trip...should be fun times!!!! And I will have LOTS of pics the next time! :)

A ROWDY Weekend!

No, I didn't get rowdy, but my boy,
Kyle Busch, sure did!

Simply unbeatable this weekend!

Went out there and won the truck race in Atlanta on Friday night, led almost the entire Nationwide race until something mechanical happened (I believe) on Saturday then just capped off the weekend by taking Toyota's first win in Cup competition in dominating fashion!
Kyle Busch, you are the man! Kenny Wallace said it this morning on Raceday...Kyle Busch is a Showstopper! Indeed, he is!

Wow, I haven't blogged in a week. It's just hard for me to sit down and type up stuff about my life. It truly isn't that exciting...ha ha!

Really haven't done a whole lot this past week. Wednesday was probably my first day out of the house. I went shopping at Kohl's for some baby gifts. I gotta spoil my babies, Kash and Grace. I met up with Shannen, Rachelle, Dirt and Kash man for lunch at Saladworks. I had never been there before and it was really good. I got to hold Kash for a majority of the time and enjoyed every minute of it. He's such a good baby. Dirt had to take him to a specialist on Monday because he had failed his hearing test. We know his ears have developed properly and he senses vibrations but unsure of actual hearing. It's just a wait and see kind of deal, which stresses Mom out. I can only imagine not knowing the outcome until later. It's kinda like you wish you didn't know until the time came where you would know the full result. We sat there for three hours just chit chatting about everything and it was good for us to get together. It was fun and I look forward to it again. Dirt's latest picture of K-Money, as he has been dubbed...lol. His nursery's theme is Monsters...so cute!

Thursday night, I went and met up with Carrie in Monroe (Fun-roe!) for a fashion show at the local mall. First, I met her, Brooke and her boss, LuAnn at Chili's for a drink or two and some appys. Then we headed to the Monroe Mall. The fashion show was for the Red Cross but featured local cops, firefighters, highway patrolmen, and teachers as models. It was cute to see them strut their stuff on the catwalk. Afterwards, Carrie, Brooke, Matt (Brooke's hubby) and I went to Logan's to eat some more. Then we headed to Grayson's, a local bar, for a beer. By this time, our buzzes had subsided and we weren't quite feeling it anymore. However, our night was not quite over! Eric, Carrie's friend from Cali, was in town for business. He guilted us into meeting him uptown so we did. The catch for Carrie to go was if I rode with her though, meaning my car stayed in Monroe, then I would have to drive home from Monroe following our evening, even though Uptown is only 15 mins. from home...but what we'll do for our friends! ;) We met Eric at Fox and Hound then went to Cans, after a trip to Buckhead which was empty/closed!! I had never seen Buckhead like that, but we managed to still find some fun at Cans. After driving us back to Monroe, and myself back to Huntersville, it was 3:30 a.m. Exhausting night...thank goodness, no 6:30 a.m. alarm for work...ha ha!

Friday night, I stayed at home and watched the truck race. Saturday, it wasn't until 10 p.m. when I decided what to do for the evening. I slept through an invite to the hockey game with the Showalters and Kinsers, so I deliberated. There was Ashley and Jacquelyn's "Redneck" Party, but I just wasn't quite feeling it for some reason. Amber texted me and I decided Joker's would be fun, so I got ready to head that way. I called Dirt on the way up there to tell her I was heading there and she said they were too...how ironic! So, I got there around 11ish and met up with Dirt, Ardy, G'off, Amber, Hubby, Jamie and Nikki, Amber, Matt and others...I had a good time. It was Dirt's first outing since Kash's birth, so well-deserved. I think she enjoyed it too! ;) It was also Ardy's birthday so let's say he had a good time celebrating too!

Now, I'm here at Mom and Dad's for the day...watched Rowdy kick ass again. We just got done eating dinner and I'll probably head home in a bit. I have my second (more like my first) jewelry party on Thursday at Renee Pagoota's house. I hope it turns out well. I really need it too.

Oh yeah, I'm going to Seattle at the end of the month!!! I'm so excited for this trip. I booked my flight on Monday, using my frequent flyer miles. I'm flying non-stop and first class...Hellz yeah! I've never flown first class before and to be able to do it on a 6 hour flight across the country will be well worth it!!! I can't wait to see all the sights, even if Becky and Jay don't know what these are since they've never been tourists in their own city...LOL. I told them I wanted to go to all the area race shops since that's all we did on their first trip to Charlotte. I am kidding!!! I don't even know what there really is to do out there, other than the Space Needle, seeing the first Starbuck's and does Seattle-Grace Hospital really exist??? LOL. I know it will be fun and I think I even get to watch Jay race! How exciting! This trip almost didn't happen come Monday night. Jay called Becky to tell her that his new job was taking him to San Diego early and he wouldn't be here. I was so upset, of all days, the day I had just booked the ticket. But now they said he would only be going for a couple days and he'll be able to come back home and be here for that time and can race too. I think he flies back to SD the day afterwards, but I'm just glad he'll be there. I mean, we all know Becky is great and all, but the trip just wouldn't be the same without Jay too. ;) I told him he better win this race cause I don't hang out with losers! But, come to think of it...he's dead to me right now anyway. It's an inside joke, but just know I'm kidding about all that! ;) Love my Crackhawks!

Been Sick

sick
So, I've been sick since last Friday night. Started with just a sore throat then progressed to coughing, sneezing, runny nose, chills, vomiting, everything imaginable. I think I went through a whole box of Kleenex on Tuesday. Just a little bit of a nasty cough left and I think it's moved out. Thank God! I'm not a good sick person but I managed to survive on my own.

Even though I wasn't feeling well and I was tired, I went out last Friday night to meet Brandis and her mom and grandmother at Joker's. It was a good time. Her grandmother is a hoot...getting up on the stage and dancing to Rocky Top, followed by Low. She also won the dance-off for clogging. It was so cute and funny!

Saturday morning, I got up really early and met Angie, my Silpada sponsor, to drive up to Reidsville for a Silpada Team Meeting. This was my first time to meet other reps and get all psyched up on my new venture and hear all the exciting things the other reps do and how they enjoy their Silpada business. Got to my mom and dad's after that and just in time for the California truck race. What can I say about Kyle Busch?! I love this kid! Way to go Rowdy...win #1 for 2008. Only the start of many more!

I then took a nap because I wasn't feeling well and got woken up by Carrie saying she was going to be at Concord Mills in 20 minutes. Yikes. I hustled to get ready then we went shopping a little bit. Well, Carrie did, not me. Then of course we went to OTB for dinner. That was a good visit, even if I wasn't feeling well. It had been a couple weeks since Carrie and I saw each other so we had a bit to catch up on.

The rest of the weekend and this week has been just laying on the couch and trying to recover from being sick. Yuck Yuck Yuck! Oh yeah, I did have my first jewelry party on Monday night, if you can call it that. Sheri only had one neighbor lady come over so not much of a party. Oh well. I felt bad for Angie since she came with me but I'm hoping to recoup from that and get more on the ball for my next ones. I have to to make this successful.

I finally felt well enough to get out of the house last night and met Shannen for some sushi (Yum Yum!) then we went to Concord Mills to watch "Welcome Home, Roscoe Jenkins." My chest hurt so bad from laughing then coughing so bad, but that is a funny movie!
Not sure what my plans are for the rest of the weekend. Carrie and I discussed maybe going to see Sunny Ledfurd in New London, but not sure if we finalized that. Guess I'll call her in a bit and find out. Have a good weekend all....
